The Bedouins in the Negev were spice traders in the past, it belongs to their culture to use spices for culinary as well as for health reasons. It was necessary to conserve their resources in order to maximize the benefits they gain from those resources. Therefore, conservation is traditionally a matter of maintaining the fauna and flora in order to preserve their way of live. They use many desert plants to make food, medicine and even tools. Although water is scarce, many plants manage to survive in the desert. Tough shrubs grow deep in cracks on mountain slopes and on rocky plains, while large bushes grow in sandy areas.
With this workshop we are offering you the opportunity to learn the secrets of the herbs and spices that bedouins are still using.
